The Kootenai County Fire & Rescue Venture Post 204 is registered with the Boy Scouts of America and is open to boys and girls, ages 14-21. The program opens the door for area youths interested in the fire service by providing a training program centered on The Essentials of Firefighting that all career and volunteer firefighters must complete in order to become members of the department. Training is also offered beyond the fire service to enhance the member’s life skills development. All of the training is conducted by experienced firefighters and emergency medical personnel with a strong emphasis on safety. Members learn responsibility, leadership skills and the importance of teamwork through classroom and hands-on activities. Members are included in several department activities such as the annual Candy Cane Run and Needy Family Program and will occasionally be called upon to support the department at larger incidents.

Through it’s affiliation with Boy Scouts of America ; the Ventures are also eligible to attend events and activities sponsored by the BSA. The Post meets every Tuesday evening at 6:30 at KCFR Station 2. For more information, please call the Kootenai County Fire Rescue administration office at 208-676-8739.
